Our USA Team Manager, Adam Tomogsoc, has been reflecting on his journey so far in recruitment at Rise. Having developed from Trainee Consultant through to leading the US Division, it’s safe to say that Adam has some valuable advice to pass on.
The reason I joined the business is because I wanted to be a part of something exceptional! I wanted to work with decent, likeminded people in a business where my career progression was clearly laid out in front of me, and I could dramatically improve my life and the lives of my family and loved ones.
Joining Rise, I didn’t know the first thing about recruitment.I didn’t know anything about building a client base, interviewing, matching candidates to jobs, or anything about HOW recruitment processes worked.
From interviewing I knew it would be tough and to expect a lot of rejection, the toughest thing was staying positive in times where it seemed nothing was going my way. I overcame this by focussing on my goals, keeping it simple and never giving up. I gained my first promotion after 6-months and never looked back.
Fast forward several years, through multiple promotions, a boat load of laughs, resilience, training and development, and the best years of my life, I’ll soon begin the next stage of my career developing the US Division from our Miami office!
Rise Technical gave me the opportunity to step out of the comfort zone and into the growth zone.
Much like when I first joined Rise, I still have those same aspirations to progress my career and improve my life and the lives of my family and loved ones!! My top tip for anyone looking to get into recruitment is to go for it! It’ll be the best decision you make and you’ll learn so much professionally and personally along the way.
